Liquor.com features the 2017 Dog Point Vineyard Chardonnay in it’s recent round-up of non-sauvignon blanc wines to try from New Zealand. The publication reports that, while sauvignon blanc accounts for almost 73% of the countries’ wine production, the Burgundian duo of pinot noir and chardonnay has begun to develop a stronghold.
The 2017 Dog Point Vineyard Chardonnay is recommended and receives a rave review: “Farmed organically and aged in barrels, this chardonnay is distinctly savory, with notes of toasted nuts and flint alongside green apple and lemon. Though it’s rich and complex on the palate, mouthwatering acidity lifts and lingers through the finish.”
