About this video

Champagne Bollinger General Manager Charles-Armand de Belenet virtually joined CNN International’s Richard Quest for a live segment where they discussed Bollinger’s performance during the pandemic, holiday sales, industry trends and – of course – James Bond.

In addition to addressing the ongoing tariff situation, CNN reported that Bollinger sales are “on fire right now.” The two discussed some of the contributing factors leading to Bollinger’s success, such as its reputation as a trusted legacy brand, the release of a new wine, PN VZ15, the Special Cuvée 007 Limited Edition for the holidays and the highly acclaimed La Grande Année 2012, the growing consumer trend to invest more money in luxury wines to enjoy safely at home, as well as the recent US election results. It is a very interesting and quick segment, which is available to watch HERE

La Grande Année: The Great Year. This Champagne is the embodiment of everything that makes Bollinger the producer that stands apart in Champagne. La Grande Année, or LGA, preserves the traditions of the past and symbolizes the word "hand-crafted" so strongly that an overused word suddenly becomes the only appropriate definition.

PN, made entirely from Pinot Noir to underscore the very essence and DNA of the House style, is the first new cuvée added to Bollinger’s permanent range since rosé in 2008. Each release of PN, developed as a series to bring Bollinger’s unique vision of Pinot Noir to light, will showcase a different cru from the base year that highlights its distinctive terroir and taste. The first edition of the series, PN VZ15, explores the interpretation of Pinot Noir from Verzenay 2015 and features reserve wines dating back to 2009.

Bollinger is one of the rare Grande Marques that’s still family owned. Known for its rich, elegant and polished style of Champagne, their outstanding wines are the result of rigorous attention to detail and incredibly labor-intensive practices that few houses are willing to undertake. Underscoring its excellence, Bollinger has remained British secret agent James Bond's Champagne of choice since 1973.
