Today we have very big news! After 50 years working to establish the Willamette Valley as a world renowned wine region, the Ponzi family is staged for the next chapter. We are thrilled to announce that the Bollinger Family of France will acquire Ponzi Vineyards at the end of the month.
Both distinguished wine families are well aligned on many levels as producers of premium Pinot noir and Chardonnay, family tradition, longevity and a high level of quality standards.
Etienne Bizot, Chairman and CEO of the Bollinger Family Holding said “We have quietly considered opportunities in the US for a number of years, but it is finally with the Ponzi family that we feel we have found the ideal fit. Their bold vision…continually innovating and improving – we have so much respect for what the Ponzis have achieved, and look forward to building on it together, and connecting all our brands more closely with the U.S. market.”
Winery President Anna Maria says, “Passing our treasured winery onto one of the most prestigious domains in France is more confirmation our parents got it right more than half a century ago. This valley is a rare jewel for quality wine growing. We are very proud of our accomplishments and look forward to the next chapter and in supporting the winery’s continued success.”
