Dangers of Dryspell Ahead? Town & Country talks to Champagne Bollinger

As the pages of the calendar turn closer and closer to 2023, and many people around the world prepare to pop open a bottle of Champagne between the holidays and New Years, some wine lovers wonder if soon their Champagne flutes will run dry.  Editor Lauren Hubbard interviews several people involved with Champagne and also domestic Sparkling wine out of California, and the sentiment is that people are drinking Champagne and its peers more and more often, not just reserving it for special occasions. 

The article, titled “Should We Prepare for a Champagne Shortage” features quotes from Champagne Bollinger’s Cyril Delarue and his thoughts on the predicted champagne shortage, noting “the demand for the last 12 months has been closer to 340 million bottles.” This is a marked increase from the previous years demand being closer to 280 million.
