Sancerre La Cote des Monts Damnes
Sancerre
This Sauvignon comes from the iconic vineyard la Côte des Monts Damnés, a very steep hillside overlooking the village of Chavignol. This clay white earth mixed with fossil shells terroir has a perfect southern exposure. The vineyard is HVE environmental certified (High Environmental Value). Sauvignon grapes are harvested 100 % by hand. Pressing is only in pneumatic presses. The vinification takes place in terracotta amphora and oak barrique (228 l). This unqiue terroir yields a very fat, fine and precise Sancerre. Bottling occurs 15 months after the harvest. A perfect expression of this iconic vineyard in Sancerre.
